Job Description:

The University of Exeter is seeking highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associates to join our dynamic research team. The successful candidates will contribute to the investigation of rare chromatin disorders and the function of the chromatin remodelling factor CHD7 in development and function of the mammalian neocortex.

As a Postdoctoral Research Associate, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary, international team, consisting of other PDRAs and postgraduate students with complementary expertise in epigenomics, neurophysiology, behaviour and cell biology. You will work closely with other team members to identify the key changes in chromatin state and associated cell type specific transcriptional alterations in cells in the prefrontal cortex of mouse models of CHARGE syndrome, compare these changes with other related conditions and determine the impact of treating mice with a pharmaceutical compound that targets these mechanisms.

The successful candidate will possess a relevant PhD or be nearing completion, with a strong background in epigenomics, neurodevelopment and research methods and techniques. You will be able to develop, optimise and implement a range of epigenomic and related next generation sequencing techniques, analyse the data using bioinformatic approaches and collaborate effectively with others in the team to develop new research avenues.
