About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead Occupational Therapist to join our multidisciplinary team at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing specialist occupational therapy services to children and young people affected by foetal exposure syndromes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage a team of occupational therapists to deliver high-quality services to clients with complex needs.
  • Develop and implement occupational therapy programs to support clients in achieving their goals and improving their quality of life.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care and support for clients and their families.
  • Conduct assessments and develop treatment plans to address the occupational needs of clients.
  • Provide education and training to staff and clients on occupational therapy principles and practices.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of policies and procedures related to occupational therapy services.
Requirements
  • Graduate Diploma/Degree in Occupational Therapy or equivalent.
  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Extensive post-graduate work experience in acute or community paediatrics.
  • Advanced paediatric course or equivalent.
  • Significant experience at senior level in paediatrics.
  • Active participation in research, audit, or quality improvement initiatives.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to influence change in practice and disseminate information to staff and clients.
  • Excellent clinical knowledge of acute and/or long-term paediatric occupational therapy.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Masters degree in Occupational Therapy or related field.
  • Clinical Educators course or equivalent.
  • Experience at clinical team leader level.
  • Active membership of relevant specialist interest groups.
  • Experience of delivering a paediatric occupational therapy service.
  • Experience of cross-boundary working.
