An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and enthusiastic Occupational Therapist with NHS experience to join our dynamic team at The Christie NHS FT.
About the RoleWe are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team in a rotational position, working across various areas including Clinical and Medical Oncology, Haematology and CAR-T, and the Teenage and Young Adult Service. This is an ideal opportunity for an existing Band 6 Occupational Therapist looking to progress or an experienced Band 5 Occupational Therapist seeking to develop their skills in oncology and palliative care.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake comprehensive Occupational Therapy assessments of patients with complex physical, psychosocial, and cognitive problems.
- Develop and implement treatment plans, rehabilitation, and discharge planning in collaboration with the multidisciplinary team.
- Work collaboratively with senior physiotherapists to deliver a high-quality, efficient service to patients.
- Monitor, evaluate, and modify Occupational Therapy treatment plans to measure progress and ensure effectiveness of interventions.
- Assess for specialist adaptive equipment and provide training and advice on safe moving and handling within the ward environment.
- Liaise effectively with other National Health, Social Services, private, and voluntary agencies to ensure patient safety.
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Therapy.
- HCPC Registration.
- Previous post-registration experience, preferably in oncology and/or palliative care.
- Complex moving and handling skills, including hoisting.
- Experience of working in a Multi-Disciplinary Team and supporting junior staff members and students.
