Job Title: Site Engineer - Biomass Steam Heating Systems

AMP Clean Energy is seeking a highly skilled Site Engineer to join our Industrial Biomass team at our site in Hull. As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for performing planned and reactive maintenance on our biomass steam heating systems and associated equipment, as well as carrying out troubleshooting and electrical and/or mechanical repair works as required.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Undertake planned maintenance, attendance, testing, and record keeping to ensure compliance with statutory regulations and industry good practice governing LTHW, steam, feed water quality, biomass combustion, and records of inspections, maintenance routines, and repairs.
  • Facilitate the biomass fuel supply to the site, receiving deliveries, testing, and recording results, and handling fuel onto the walking floor system where required using a tele-handler.
  • Ensure optimal and continuous operation of mechanical systems by performing routine inspections and maintenance, monitoring metering equipment, and adjusting levels as necessary.
  • Ensure accurate and detailed report and record keeping of fuel supply, maintenance, testing, and HSEQ incidents; risk assessments and auditing, via our online HSEQ and service management systems.
  • Monitor feed water and emissions quality.
  • Ensure a high level of health and safety management on site, encouraging a strong health and safety culture and adherence with legislation and Company policies, including conducting regular audits and completing risk assessments and method statements.
  • Liaise on site with the client's engineering and maintenance teams and maintain excellent levels of communication on site as required.
Requirements:
  • Mechanical or Engineering educational qualification (C&G, HNC, NVQ or equivalent).
  • HSEQ operator level training (e.g. safety passport/CSCS card), and training on completing site risk assessment/method statements is desirable.
  • Strong engineering background, with either mechanical and/or electrical experience.
  • Experience in working on heat and steam generating plant and equipment within large industrial sites with a continual heat demand and LTHW and steam systems including pumps, valves, hydraulics, controls.
  • Excellent engineering credentials with a 'hands on' approach to problem solving.

You will have a strong engineering background, with either mechanical and/or electrical experience, and be able to demonstrate excellent engineering credentials with a 'hands on' approach to problem solving.
