Volunteer Shadow Trustee Smart Works Newcastle

Smart Works Newcastle is a dynamic and fast-growing charity that empowers unemployed women to succeed in their job interviews. We provide the clothes and confidence they need to transform their lives.
The RoleWe are seeking a Shadow Trustee to support our Board of Trustees in raising the profile of our service, particularly among younger clients aged 16-25. As a Shadow Trustee, you will be an advocate for young people, providing insight and advice on how to shape our service to appeal to this demographic.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Chair of the Board of Trustees in ensuring the centre is well-run and managed effectively.
- Provide insights, suggest ideas, and encourage scrutiny to help decide on the plans and strategic direction of the Centre.
- Advocate for the Centre, raising its profile and awareness of the Smart Works service for young clients in the north east.
- Build strong working relationships with the Chair, trustees, staff, volunteers, and supporters.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, able to communicate and share their ideas effectively, and has a willingness to support our Smart Works mission. You will be mentored by the current board and will have the opportunity to learn and develop your skills.
