Job Overview

This role involves working as part of the Oncology middle grade team at Cheltenham General Hospital and providing care to patients at Hereford County Hospital. The post holder will be responsible for supervising and prescribing systemic treatment, radiotherapy planning, and supervising patients receiving radiotherapy. There will be opportunities to train in practical procedures, including pleural and ascitic drainage, and experience of clinical trials.

Requirements
  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • FRCR part 1
  • Full GMC Registration
  • FRCR part 2
Experience
  • At least 3 years of working in Oncology
  • Experience of palliative radiotherapy planning
  • Experience of independent assessment of patients and prescribing their systemic treatment for cancer
  • Experience of radical radiotherapy planning
Skills
  • Understanding of the principles and application of clinical research
  • An empathetic, non-judgemental approach to patients
  • Experience in making clinical decisions and managing risk
  • Capacity to work effectively in multi-professional team
  • Evidence of interest in palliative medicine
  • Experience of research
  • Evidence of participating in the teaching process
