About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Pricing and Demand Specialist to join our team at British Gas Business (BGB). As a key member of our commercial team, you will be responsible for the energy procurement, hedging, position management, and demand forecasting of our gas portfolio.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement operational forecasts to manage the hedge and report performance metrics to key stakeholders.
  • Apply statistical and mathematical modelling skills to develop short and long-term gas forecasts.
  • Work closely with Finance and Commercial teams to provide insight and analysis to enhance the reporting of our volumetric and financial positions.
  • Coordinate the delivery of forecasting projects to ensure data requirements are captured and data quality is maintained.
  • Represent BGB at industry forums.
Requirements
  • Excellent numerical, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Comfortable handling complex numeric data.
  • Understanding of commodities markets and energy forecasting.
  • Awareness of financial risk management and the risks associated with pricing and hedging activities.
  • Technical software skills in SQL, Python, R, SAS, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, Excel, and Power BI.
