Job Title: Senior AI Researcher
Location: University of Edinburgh, UK
Salary: £40,247 - £47,874 per annum (approximately $52,000-$61,000 USD)
Job Description:
This position is part of the Centre for AI for Assistive Autonomy at the University of Edinburgh. The successful candidate will be the lead researcher anchoring laboratory activities in Artificial Intelligence for autonomous vehicles.
The central purpose of the job is to investigate human-centred AI methods for novel applications, including shared autonomy and autonomous operation in crowded urban environments.
The post holder will address issues such as real-time perception, human-in-the-loop adaptation strategies, interactive decision making, and large scale data-driven modelling of driver behaviour.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- PhD in AI and/or robotics with a focus on autonomous vehicles applications
- Excellent track record of publications in top-tier journals and conferences in AI, robotics, or allied areas
- Proven experience of developing field robotics systems
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team and report on project progress
- Clear communication skills, both oral and written
