Job Title: Special Education Teacher

About the Role:

We are currently seeking a dedicated and passionate Special Education Teacher to join our team at an SEN-school in the UK. As an SEN Teacher, you will play a crucial role in supporting and educating students with special educational needs. You will work closely with students, their families, and other professionals to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Plan, prepare and deliver engaging lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEN.
  • Use a range of teaching strategies and resources to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Monitor and assess student progress, providing regular feedback and support.
  • Collaborate with other teachers and professionals to develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs).
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the social, emotional, and academic development of students.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and participate in team meetings and parent conferences.

Salary: £28,000 - £41,000 per annum, depending on experience.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience working in SEN settings.
  • Strong understanding of different types of special educational needs and strategies to support them.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, colleagues, and families.
  • Patient, empathetic, and genuinely passionate about working with students with SEN.
  • Able to adapt teaching methods and resources to meet the diverse needs of students.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one).
