About the Role

The Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Test Analyst to join our team. As a Test Analyst, you will play a critical role in ensuring the delivery of high-quality maintenance releases for the Somerset Cancer Register (SCR) products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and execute tests to ensure high-quality releases
  • Support test plans and collaborate with SCR team members, customers, and national bodies
  • Translate technical information into accessible language and participate in SCR meetings to share best practices
  • Prioritize and manage your own workload, report on testing results, and identify risks
  • Provide quick and effective resolutions to system-related issues and maintain strong relationships with users
Requirements
  • Education to level 3 or higher in an IT-related subject or equivalent gained through specific relevant experience
  • English Language and Maths GCSE or equivalent graded C+ or 4+
  • Evidence of own continuing professional or personal development
  • Good working knowledge of Windows operating systems and software applications, including MS Office
  • Some experience in testing/quality assurance, user acceptance, beta testing, code reviews, or any other testing
  • Using Teams or similar for meetings/collaboration and working in a customer service environment
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
  • ISTQB Foundation Certificate in Testing
  • ITIL Foundation
  • Understanding of Data Protection (GDPR) / data security principles
  • Understanding of the Software development lifecycle
  • Awareness of national guidance on cancer, including care pathways/waiting times
  • Client/server computing, networking, security, relational databases
  • Microsoft technologies/products, such as Windows Server, Azure, Active Directory, IIS, SQL Server
  • Work experience within the NHS
  • Use of Dev Ops or similar software lifecycle management application
