About the Role

As part of our electrical engineering team, you'll work across diverse engineering disciplines in support of marine projects. Your responsibilities will include electromagnetic effects analysis, including TEMPEST, Electromagnetic Compatibility/Electromagnetic Interference (EMC/EMI), Electromagnetic Pulse (EMP), electrostatic discharge (ESD), and lightning review.

Your Key Responsibilities

  • Support the performance of electromagnetic effects analysis, including TEMPEST and EMC/EMI.
  • Work with diverse engineering disciplines to deliver valued oversight across all phases of the design lifecycle.
  • Develop strong knowledge of TEMPEST and EMC/EMI principles to drive design development and problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with the team to design ground systems, chassis, and harness shielding, EMI filters, and interface circuitry for achieving EMC and TEMPEST.
  • Prepare and review test procedures, test reports, technical analyses, control plans, and participate in cross-discipline design reviews for EMC.

Requirements

  • EMC/EMI experience.
  • Working knowledge of lab test equipment, such as spectrum analysers, generators, amplifiers, and measurement antennas.
  • Demonstrated ability to allocate, tailor, and flow down system-level EMC/EMI requirements into lower-level requirements.
  • Ideal candidates have extensive design experience with EMI filters, circuit layout, and analysis for EMC/EMI, shielding, lightning protection, cable, and harnessing design.
  • Working knowledge and experience in modelling and simulation of EMC/EMI using commercially available software is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Qualified to degree level, or HNC/HND equivalent, coupled with significant experience in the relevant engineering discipline.
  • Preferrable but not essential a master's degree in electrical engineering, with a specialty in Electromagnetics, RF, or analogue circuitry is preferred.
  • Ideally, you'll be a member of a relevant institution and hold or working towards Chartered or Incorporated status, or you'll have significant demonstrable engineering experience and capable of registration with the Engineering Council at CEng level.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
