Housing Officer Role

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Housing Officer to join our team at Service Care Solutions. This is a full-time temporary ongoing position, offering hybrid working arrangements.

About the Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a high-quality housing management service to local residents, supporting people to sustain their homes and quality of life. You will be the primary point of contact for a local area, estate, or patch of residents, ensuring the conditions in the area are well maintained.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tenancy and leasehold management services within the local social housing stock
  • Offer advice on safeguarding and health and well-being, including housing, welfare rights, personal finance, hoarding, tenancy management, mediation, life skills, and personal independence
  • Profile tenants at risk of failing tenancies and develop support plans with clear outcomes, conducting regular reviews to increase the likelihood of sustaining their home
  • Maintain effective planned schedules of visits and inspections, identifying requirements across the local area
  • Develop working relationships with colleagues and key partners, including statutory services, local landlords, and other housing organizations
  • Manage nuisance and anti-social behaviour case work
  • Maintain accurate records of casework, adhering to relevant policies and procedures, ensuring confidentiality and data protection guidelines are strictly followed
Requirements
  • Previous experience working in a similar role as a Housing Officer is essential
  • Knowledge of housing legislation, policies, and procedures
  • Experience of dealing with complex casework, both in person and in writing
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate complex information in a clear and accessible manner
  • Good organizational skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks, manage workload efficiently, and meet deadlines
Pay and Benefits

The pay rate for this role is £19.46 per hour (LTD company rate) or £16.59 per hour (PAYE equivalent), inclusive of holiday.
