Job Title: Heavy Goods Vehicle Engineer

We are seeking a skilled HGV Engineer to join our team at Alecto Recruitment. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in managing fleet repairs in-house and ensuring our HGV fleet complies with legal and company standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect and maintain the HGV fleet to ensure compliance with legal and company standards.
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and transport them to the Test Centre.
  • Record vehicle defects and maintain detailed, accurate records of all work performed on each vehicle.
  • Repair minor accident damage and conduct fault diagnosis to identify mechanical issues.
  • Proactively seek and implement solutions to mechanical problems.
  • Provide excellent customer service by maintaining communication with stakeholders and addressing any vehicle-related concerns.

Key Skills & Experience:

  • Prior experience in a similar HGV technician or mechanical role is highly desirable.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Strong time management skills and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Positive, self-motivated attitude with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong work ethic and a positive, solutions-driven attitude towards work.

Salary Information:

The estimated salary for this position is £47,500 per annum.
