About the Role

We're seeking a seasoned Principal Medical Writer to oversee the development of robust scientific content and lead the onsite delivery of an innovative and award-winning standalone event.

This pivotal role will lead on the development and delivery of the scientific programme, while overseeing a 5-person high-performing scientific services team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Create Medical Education/Communication Programmes: Develop and implement comprehensive medical education and communication programmes for implementation under your guidance.
  • Lead Scientific Discussions: Lead scientific discussions with clients and external experts, face-to-face and on calls, to drive strategic planning and account growth.
  • Develop Scientific Strategy: Develop scientific strategy to inform tactical planning of accounts, both internally and with clients.
  • Manage Editorial Resources: Manage editorial resources, including internal teams and external partners, to ensure high-quality scientific content delivery.
  • Drive Organic Growth Opportunities: Identify and drive organic growth opportunities on accounts, leveraging scientific expertise and industry knowledge.
  • Act as Scientific Lead for Proposals and Pitches: Provide scientific leadership for proposals and pitches, ensuring compelling and effective scientific messaging.
  • Provide Line Management, Mentoring, Coaching, and Training: Provide line management, mentoring, coaching, and training to team members, ensuring their growth and development.
Requirements
  • Extensive Agency Experience: Possess extensive agency experience, with time served as a Senior Medical Writer.
  • Scientific and Editorial Leadership: Demonstrate a track record of scientific and editorial leadership for large/complex accounts.
  • Strong Leadership and Communication Skills: Possess strong leadership and communication skills, with high emotional intelligence and adaptability.
  • Organic Growth and Scientific Insight: Demonstrate a track record of identifying organic growth opportunities and contributing scientific insight to proposals and pitches.
  • Event and Digital Project Experience: Possess experience in delivering events and digital projects, with a strong understanding of pharmaceutical regulations.
