Insurance Underwriter Assistant

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Insurance Underwriter Assistant to join our team at AXIS Insurance. As an Underwriter Assistant, you will play a critical role in supporting our Underwriters to achieve business targets and maintain underwriting standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support Underwriters in writing business to achieve targets, in accordance with underwriting standards and controls.
- Ensure accuracy of risks entered on underwriting systems and spreadsheets.
- Respond to and manage enquiries from Brokers in a timely and professional manner.
- Review risks with Underwriters to ensure underwriting standards are maintained.
- Build strong relationships with Brokers and attend client and Broker meetings as required.
- Effectively manage administrative functions to promote a corporate culture that treats customers fairly.
- Achieve agreed training programmes, including Lloyds briefings and market seminars.
- Monitor regulatory, market and agency bulletins and circulars.
- Maintain files and systems, and collate information for internal/external audits and meetings.
About You:
We welcome applicants from underwriting, broking and engineering backgrounds who possess strong influencing, negotiating, listening and questioning skills. You should be able to analyse numerical and raw data and present results in a clear and concise manner. Strong numeracy skills, analytical ability, detail-orientation, initiative and self-motivation are also essential.

Working Arrangements:
This role typically requires you to be in the office 3 days per week.
