Senior Civil Engineer (Below Ground Drainage) Role Overview

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced Senior Civil Engineer to join our team as a Below Ground Drainage specialist. As a key member of our Civil Engineering team, you will be responsible for leading and supporting the team in the design and delivery of below ground drainage projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. **Lead and Support the Team:**
  2. Provide technical guidance and support to junior engineers and technicians in the design and delivery of below ground drainage projects.
  3. **Conduct Site Inspections and Meetings:**
  4. Conduct site inspections and meetings with external stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered on time and to the required quality standards.
  5. **Project Management:**
  6. Be the main point of contact for your own projects, ensuring timely delivery and effective communication with clients and stakeholders.
  7. **Mentorship:**
  8. Mentor and develop junior engineers and technicians to help them achieve their full potential.
  9. **Client-Facing:**
  10. Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and delivering solutions that meet their expectations.
  11. **Technical Expertise:**
  12. Produce and check work in MicroDrainage/Civils 3D (plus other relevant software) to ensure high-quality designs and delivery.
  13. **Project Variety:**
  14. Work on a variety of drainage and highways projects within a mid/large organisation, ensuring a diverse and challenging workload.

Requirements:

  1. **Chartered Status:**
  2. Hold Chartered or near Chartered status (MICE) and have a strong understanding of the principles and practices of civil engineering.
  3. **Leadership Skills:**
  4. Have the motivation and desire to progress and become a leader in the sector, with a strong ability to lead and manage teams.
  5. **Innovation:**
  6. Be able to think creatively and develop innovative solutions to technical problems.
  7. **Team Player:**
  8. Be committed to contributing to the culture of the business and being part of a team.
