We are seeking a skilled and compassionate individual to join our Pre-Operative Assessment Clinic as a Healthcare Assistant. As a member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth preparation of adult patients for their surgical admission.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake a range of investigations to assess patient fitness for surgery, including obtaining patient observations, ECGs, blood samples, and urine samples.
- Work collaboratively with the surgical pre-operative team to provide high-quality patient care, maintaining a stable and safe environment.
- Provide clerical support to trained nurses in the clinical area, including answering telephone enquiries, filing medical notes, and basic computer work.
- Develop strong communication skills to effectively interact with patients, pre-operative assessment staff, and the multi-professional team.
- Previous experience in a healthcare setting, preferably in a surgical or pre-operative role.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Flexibility and adaptability, with a willingness to learn and develop new skills.
