Job Title: Curriculum Leader for Science

Location: Reading

Contract: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: £31,650-£43,607 + TLR £5,531

Hours: 8.00am-4.00pm OR 8.30am-4.30pm

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Curriculum Leader for Science to join our team at a thriving school in Reading. As a key member of our education team, you will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of our science curriculum, ensuring that it is engaging, challenging, and meets the needs of all students.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Developing and implementing the science curriculum, in collaboration with other subject leaders and senior leaders.
  • Leading the science department, including line managing staff and providing coaching and support to ensure high-quality teaching and learning.
  • Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of the science curriculum, making recommendations for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Contributing to the development of whole-school policies and procedures, including those related to curriculum design and implementation.
  • Working closely with other subject leaders and senior leaders to ensure consistency and coherence across the curriculum.
Requirements:
  • Experience of leading a science department or curriculum team.
  • Proven track record of improving student outcomes and achievement in science.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire staff.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  • Knowledge of the National Curriculum and GCSE specifications, with a strong understanding of curriculum design and implementation.
