Key Responsibilities:
- Developing the curriculum intent for Science, in collaboration with relevant school and trust leads.
- Leading the implementation of the Science curriculum, ensuring high-quality teaching and learning.
- Oversight of curriculum programmes, interventions, and support for students who require additional assistance.
- Contributing to the development of the whole school curriculum intent and design, sharing expertise and best practices with other curriculum leaders.
- Line managing staff in the Science team, providing guidance and support to ensure effective teaching and learning.
- Ensuring monitoring, evaluation, and professional coaching are effective in supporting staff performance, academic standards, and student well-being.
- Writing and implementing Development Plans to address identified priorities.
- Ensuring compliance with Health and Safety requirements within the Science department.
Requirements:
- Experience of teaching Science to students aged 11+ in an educational setting.
- Recent experience of teaching Science at the relevant level.
- Involvement in marking GCSE and/or A-level examination scripts for a recognized Awarding Body.
- Knowledge of the National Curriculum and examination course specifications.
- Awareness of equal opportunities issues and how they can be addressed through teaching and learning strategies.
