Customs Compliance Specialist

We are looking for a highly organised and detail-oriented Customs Clearance Clerk to join our team at One to One Personnel. As a key member of our customs team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth clearance of goods through customs procedures.
Your primary responsibilities will include preparing customs documentation, communicating with customs authorities, and ensuring that all necessary paperwork is completed accurately and on time. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills and knowledge in customs clearance and contribute to the success of our team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Document Preparation: Prepare customs documents to ensure shipments meet applicable laws for entry.
- Customs Clearance: Issue correct documents on behalf of clients to clear customs efficiently.
- Team Collaboration: Work within a customs team environment, understanding customs regulations and port health requirements/IPAFFS.
- Time Management: Manage your time effectively, meeting tight deadlines and adapting to changing circumstances.
- Technical Skills: Utilise Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and Teams effectively.
- Client Service: Provide exceptional customer service to clients.
- Industry Knowledge: Stay updated on customs regulations and industry trends.
Requirements:
- Experience: Proven experience working in customs clearance or a related field.
- Procedure Knowledge: Proficient in customs clearance procedures and documentation.
- Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail.
- Problem-Solving: Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with customs regulations and laws.
- Problem-Solving Skills: Strong problem-solving skills.
Package:
- Salary: £26,000 - £29,000 (dependent on experience)
- Training and Development: Initial training in the office for approximately 3 months, Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:30pm.
- Hybrid Work Option: Potential hybrid work available once training has been completed.
- Holiday Entitlement: 22 days plus bank holidays.
- Onsite Parking: Available onsite.
- Laptop and Mobile Phone: Provided by the company.
