Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Additional Support Assistant to join our team at Carmel College. As a key member of our support staff, you will play a vital role in ensuring the success of our students by providing individualized support and assistance in the classroom and beyond.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide in-class support to students who require learning assistance, helping them to access the curriculum and achieve their academic goals.
  • Assist teaching staff in the planning and delivery of lessons, ensuring that students receive the support they need to succeed.
  • Work closely with the Head of Additional Support/SENCo to monitor student progress and develop strategies to support students who require additional help.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and implement effective support plans, ensuring that students receive a high-quality education.
  • Provide examination support to students who require access arrangements, ensuring that they are able to access the exam process with confidence.
  • Assist with the supervision of students during lunchtime and break times, ensuring their safety and well-being.
  • Participate in staff development and training, staying up-to-date with best practices in support and inclusion.
  • Contribute to the development of a positive and inclusive learning environment, promoting the College's Catholic ethos and values.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach to meeting the needs of students and staff.
  • Highly organized and able to prioritize tasks effectively, with a strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
