The S/L/A/M Collaborative is seeking an experienced Construction Superintendent to join our team. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead and manage the on-site construction team to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, vendors, and regulatory staff to ensure smooth project execution.
- Monitor and report on schedule progress, identify potential problems, and implement solutions to prevent delays.
- Manage subcontractor safety orientations, onboarding, and compliance with company policies and procedures.
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractor installations, workflow, and sequencing to ensure efficient project execution.
- Drive the field team to achieve targeted milestones and completion dates with quality workmanship that conforms to plans and specifications.
- Proactively identify and solve potential problems before they occur, and monitor and correct quality control issues and defective or non-conforming work.
- Identify and proactively report material and scheduling projections throughout the construction process to the Project Manager.
- Complete daily field reports and logs to ensure accurate project documentation.
- Maintain positive relationships with customers, contractors, suppliers, inspectors, and other employees to ensure a collaborative and productive work environment.
- Monitor and promote job site safety, safe work practices, and rectify any job site hazards.
- Strong knowledge of construction techniques and all trades.
- Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
- Experience in general trades and on-site construction supervision.
- Proficiency in at least 3 trade skills preferred.
- Strong organizational, safety, and communication skills necessary to manage and lead logistically complex and sensitive projects.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
