Role Overview

The Azure Engineer plays a pivotal role in enhancing and securing our cloud infrastructure, ensuring optimal performance and cost-effectiveness. Utilizing your proficiency in Microsoft Azure, you will focus on strengthening system resilience, implementing security best practices, and proactively managing resources. Your responsibilities will include spearheading continuous improvement initiatives and overseeing strategies for cost management.

In addition, you will ensure the smooth integration of emerging technologies, support DevOps methodologies to refine deployment pipelines, and maintain thorough documentation. Your contributions will be vital in monitoring system health, performing performance tuning, and aiding in business continuity planning.

Key Responsibilities:


• Identify and execute opportunities for automation, performance enhancements, and infrastructure optimizations to adapt to changing business requirements.


• Guarantee high availability and reliability of cloud services by developing and maintaining disaster recovery strategies, conducting regular performance evaluations, and implementing redundancy and failover solutions.


• Enforce security and compliance best practices within the Azure environment, conduct regular security assessments, ensure adherence to industry standards, and respond swiftly to security incidents.


• Monitor and analyze cloud expenditures, propose and implement cost-saving strategies, and effectively utilize cost management tools.


• Collaborate closely with development, operations, and security teams to ensure seamless integration and functionality of cloud services.


• Maintain comprehensive documentation of cloud infrastructure, enhancements, best practices, and performance metrics. Prepare regular reports on system performance, security posture, and cost management.


• Provide mentorship and training to team members and other departments on Azure best practices and optimizations.


• Lead and engage in incident response activities, ensuring minimal downtime and rapid resolution of issues.


• Participate in architectural design discussions to ensure our system capabilities align with business objectives.

Oversee the management of certificates and secrets within the Azure environment, ensuring timely rotation and compliance with security protocols. Implement automated processes for certificate and secret renewal and replacement to uphold system integrity and security.

Qualifications:


• Proven experience as an Azure Engineer or in a similar capacity with a deep understanding of Azure services, architecture, and best practices.


• Strong knowledge of cloud security principles, including identity management, encryption, and compliance standards.


• Experience with Azure cost management and budgeting tools, along with implementing cost-saving measures.


• Proficiency in automation tools and scripting languages such as PowerShell, ARM templates, or Terraform.


• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues.


• Strong interpersonal skills with the capacity to work effectively within cross-functional teams.


• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.


• Relevant Azure certifications are highly desirable.


• A commitment to continuous learning and staying informed about the latest Azure technologies and industry trends.
