About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Cloud Delivery Engineer to join our dynamic Cloud Platform Engineering (CPE) team at Tesco Technology. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing our Public Cloud presence, particularly in Microsoft Azure, and supporting internal development teams and central platforms.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement cloud infrastructure using Terraform, Bicep, and ARM to automate the setup, scaling, and management of resources.
  • Ensure security and compliance through proposed or implemented centralized controls or by reducing the friction of consuming organizationally aligned infrastructure.
  • Deliver continuous integration and deployment (CI/CD) workflows that automate deployments and provide end-to-end testing of components developed.
  • Collaborate with the wider CPE team to document centralized constructs, modules, or other artifacts produced, creating documentation that can be understood by various audiences.
Requirements
  • Proficiency with common infrastructure-as-code (IaC) tools, with demonstrable experience with Terraform required.
  • Minimum 5 years' experience in a delivery role, with a strong understanding of DevOps and cloud engineering principles.
  • CI/CD expertise, with working experience in a similar DevOps or cloud engineering role, and an understanding of common tooling.
  • Working understanding of GitHub, GitHub Actions, and Azure DevOps, with proficiency in at least one scripting language, such as PowerShell, Go, Bash, or Python.
  • Cloud infrastructure knowledge, with a focus on Microsoft Azure, and familiarity with role-based access control, policy, and other common governance constructs.
  • Familiarity with Entra ID is desirable but not essential.
  • Exposure to containerization, covering Kubernetes and Docker, with a focus on specific platform tooling that provides this, such as AKS, Container Apps, and Container Instances.
