Academic Mentor for SEN

We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as an Academic Mentor for SEN. This role is perfect for graduates looking to gain further experience working with children and young people with SEN/SEMH needs.


The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a brilliant Secondary School based in the Borough of Waltham Forest, providing academic support and guidance to students with special educational needs. If you are passionate about education and have a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of young people, we encourage you to apply for this exciting opportunity.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic support and guidance to students with SEN/SEMH needs
  • Work closely with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement individualized learning plans
  • Assist students with their academic work and provide additional support as needed
  • Help students to develop their skills and confidence in a supportive and inclusive environment


Requirements:

  • Relevant qualifications and experience working with children and young people with SEN/SEMH needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Passion for education and a desire to make a positive impact on the lives of young people
