Job Role: Teaching Assistant for Students with Special Educational Needs

Location: Various Schools in the Area

Pay Rate: £85 - £110 Per Day

Contract Type: Long Term, Short Term, Temp to Perm and Day to Day

Leader Education is recruiting experienced support staff to work with children and young adults with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in schools across the area. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children who require additional support and have experience in providing a nurturing and calming environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide individualized support to students with SEN, promoting their social, emotional, and academic development
  • Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans
  • Assist with lesson planning and delivery, adapting materials to meet the needs of students with SEN
  • Support students with challenging behavior, using positive behavior management techniques
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive school culture, promoting the well-being and dignity of all students

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children and young adults with SEN, preferably in a school setting
  • Ability to provide a calm and nurturing environment, supporting students with emotional and behavioral needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with teachers, students, and parents
  • Ability to adapt to changing situations and priorities, with a flexible and patient approach
  • Enhanced DBS clearance and relevant qualifications (e.g. NVQ Level 2 or equivalent)
