Private Equity Advisory Associate

Are you looking for a challenging role in private equity? Do you have experience in investment banking or secondary advisory? We are working with a leading independent investment bank that is looking to add an Associate to the secondary advisory side of its private capital advisory team.
As an Associate in this team, you can expect to have responsibilities across the transaction process: from origination and execution through to project management and client relationship maintenance and development. You will also be involved with the management and training of more junior members of the team.
The team itself is lean and will therefore offer plenty of scope for career progression. You will work closely with experienced professionals who will guide you through your responsibilities. Your tasks may include drafting and coordinating the preparation of pitch presentations, information memoranda and other marketing materials, taking the lead on deal origination through market analyses, and performing a key role in executing and project-managing client mandates.
You will also interface with clients, buyers, sellers, legal counsels, financing providers and investors. Additionally, you will support the team's MD and Principals in their daily activities, creation and coordination of financial models and business valuations, conducting industry and company-specific due diligence related to transactions, attending client meetings, and managing, developing, training and coaching analysts and interns.
We are looking for someone with enthusiasm to develop a career in the private equity secondary market. A proven background in investment banking, secondary advisory or relevant financial services experience of a minimum of 2 years is required. Experience in scoping and executing secondary transactions is advantageous. Exceptional academic credentials, such as a degree from a top-tier university, are also expected.
A firm grasp of asset and fund valuation methods, a strong work ethic and the ability to maintain high standards on all tasks, a keen eye for detail, strong numerical ability and logical reasoning are essential skills for this role. Excellent communication skills and the ability to explain complex ideas clearly, demonstrable commercial awareness and a real interest in secondary transactions are also highly valued.
