We are seeking an experienced Senior Contract Specialist to join our team at Donovan Marrison Ltd. As a Senior Contract Specialist, you will be responsible for managing and administering contracts for our offshore energy engineering and construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:- Review and qualify or draft different types of contracts, including engineering, procurement, construction, transportation and installation, service contracts, and associated confidentiality agreements.
- Manage the workload in coordination with Tendering/Commercial, Project Management, and Procurement functions, collecting inputs from other functions, including Insurance, Tax, and Finance.
- Advise Company and Corporate Management on main contractual risks, identifying and proposing contractual mitigation actions.
- Participate in meetings with internal clients, external clients, partners, and subcontractors, negotiating, taking notes, and preparing summaries and/or minutes of meetings.
- Negotiate contractual instruments with counterparties in the best interests of the Company and in accordance with Company risk policies.
- Support Project Management teams in determining claims and contract management strategies, preparing and evaluating variation order requests, and drafting key project correspondence towards clients, major subcontractors, and/or other interfacing third parties.
- Support Procurement function in reviewing subcontracts and purchase orders.
- Draft all related legal instruments and correspondence.
- Perform legal research, e.g., case law affecting Company market space.
- Have knowledge of industry standard contracts (FIDIC, LOGIC, BIMCO, IOCs, etc.).
- Knowledge and experience of English Law.
- Proven experience of reviewing and advising on tendering contracts and of administering project contracts and effective negotiation skills.
- Proven experience in negotiating and executing offshore construction contracts.
- International mobility both for short missions and potentially for long-term assignments.
