Job Description

Job Title: Highways Design Engineer - Part Time Opportunity

Job Type: Part-time, 24-month fixed-term contract

Location: North East Lincolnshire region

Job Summary:

We are seeking a confident and motivated Highways Design Engineer to join our team on a part-time basis. As a key member of our Highways Design Team, you will work on a variety of infrastructure projects, including highway maintenance and large capital civil and structural projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Deliver highway designs using AutoCAD and associated design packages
  • Attend consultation events and prepare tender packages
  • Prepare cost estimates for client budgeting purposes
  • Ensure all designs are in accordance with current design standards
  • Undertake site supervision of highway and infrastructure projects
  • Be involved in project management and technical delivery of projects from inception to completion
  • Manage and coordinate personal workload to achieve project deliverables

Requirements:

  • Qualified to HND/C level or equivalent
  • Demonstrable track record in the Highways and Transportation industry
  • Ability to work on own initiative with limited management
  • Knowledge of the Design Manual for Roads and Bridges and Manual for Streets
  • Understanding of Health and Safety legislation and CDM Regulations 2015
  • Proficient in the use of AutoCAD, Key Signs & Key Lines

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Ability to communicate confidently and clearly both verbally and in writing
  • Experience of delivery works for local authorities
  • Relevant post-HND/C qualification experience
  • Knowledge and experience of producing geometric highway designs using AutoCAD Civil3D
