Job Title: Pharmacist Specialist - Aseptics and Oncology

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist Specialist to join our team at the Lister Macmillan Cancer Centre. As a key member of our pharmacy team, you will provide specialist and patient-focused pharmacy services to our cancer patients, while also supporting the Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice on oncology pharmacy issues, including clinical, funding, and prescribing issues.
  • Support the Lister Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit to provide an efficient service to our cancer patients and other clients.
  • Undertake risk management and ensure compliance with medicines legislation.
  • Carry out general dispensing and associated clinical and pharmaceutical duties.
  • Provide teaching and day-to-day supervision of junior clinical pharmacists, technicians, and pharmacy support staff.

Requirements:
  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy (MPharm)
  • General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Professional registration
  • Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to maintain fitness to practice
  • Certificate in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent
  • Post-qualification experience in hospital pharmacy aseptic services
  • Experience in providing clinical services to cancer patients
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Effective communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Ability to use initiative and work under pressure
  • Good workplace organisational skills
  • Critical appraisal skills
  • Knowledge of prescription monitoring, computer and IT literacy, and health and safety
