Job Title: Pharmacist Specialist - Aseptics and Oncology

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Pharmacist Specialist to join our team at the Lister Macmillan Cancer Centre. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide specialist pharmacy services to cancer patients, working closely with healthcare professionals to ensure the highest standards of care.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert advice on oncology pharmacy issues, including clinical, funding, and prescribing matters.
  • Support the Pharmacy Manufacturing Unit in providing an efficient service to the Lister Macmillan Cancer Centre and other clients.
  • Undertake risk management and ensure compliance with medicines legislation.
  • Carry out general dispensing and associated clinical and pharmaceutical duties.
  • Provide teaching and day-to-day supervision of junior clinical pharmacists, technicians, and pharmacy support staff.

Requirements:
  • Masters Degree in Pharmacy (MPharm)
  • General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) Professional registration
  • Mandatory Continuing Professional Development (CPD) to maintain fitness to practice
  • Certificate in Pharmacy Practice or equivalent
  • Post-qualification experience in hospital pharmacy aseptics services
  • Experience in providing clinical services to cancer patients
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize tasks
  • Good knowledge of medicines legislation and risk management
  • Up-to-date knowledge of national pharmacy issues and NHS organizational structure
