Commissioning Editor Role Overview

As a Commissioning Editor at Taylor & Francis Group, you will play a crucial role in shaping the content of our esteemed journals in the Medicine and Health field. Your primary responsibility will be to commission high-quality article submissions, ensuring a steady pipeline of published material across a broad scope of our journals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct in-depth analysis of academic fields and growth areas to identify opportunities for article submissions.
  • Engage with researchers to build awareness of the benefits of publishing with Taylor & Francis, fostering strong relationships with the research community.
  • Collaborate with journal Editors, Editorial Boards, and internal Editorial teams to drive content acquisition and delivery.
  • Develop and implement structured commissioning plans to target key researchers and research groups.
  • Commission high-quality, relevant content for our journal portfolio, meeting specified timeframes and quality standards.
Requirements
  • A relevant academic or working background in Medicine and Health disciplines.
  • Experience working in academic publishing, with a strong understanding of editorial policies and procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work cooperatively with colleagues at all levels.
  • High level of computer literacy, including MS Office, Outlook, and internet browsers, with experience with Salesforce desirable.
  • Active interest in open access, open data, and open science, as well as publishing and related matters.
