We are seeking a Commissioning Engineer to join our team at Galliford Try, a leading construction company dedicated to improving the UK's built environment and delivering lasting change in the communities we work in.

Job Description

This role is available for a Summer 2025 start, with the possibility of an earlier start date to suit yourself and the business. As a Commissioning Engineer, you will be responsible for gaining training and knowledge in the effective commissioning delivery in coordination with multi-disciplined teams including Mechanical Electrical ICA (MEICA) of Southern Water projects. You will work closely with the MEICA team in the MEICA & Commissioning delivery on the project up to project completion & takeover including all associated document deliverables.

You will ensure the site is fully commissioned and operational with the MEICA / Commissioning project takeover requirements delivered to the wider project team in a timely manner. This role encompasses input to the design process, understanding the suitability of the mechanical & electrical equipment/processes, testing to ensure the equipment is working correctly, troubleshooting problems/diagnosing faults, documentation to provide evidence of satisfactory testing completion, and technical support in enabling operation, providing commissioning specialist support to the project team including preparation of detailed commissioning procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete an apprenticeship course relevant to the role, to suit your current education level.
  • Join our Trainee Development Programme, where you will be given the training and tools to develop your skills through a series of modules over an 18-month period followed by a graduation event.
  • Work closely with the MEICA team in the MEICA & Commissioning delivery on the project up to project completion & takeover including all associated document deliverables.
  • Ensure the site is fully commissioned and operational with the MEICA / Commissioning project takeover requirements delivered to the wider project team in a timely manner.
