About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Quantum Engineer to join our team at Oxford Quantum Circuits. As a key member of our research and development team, you will play a critical role in the design, development, and optimization of our quantum computing hardware.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and simulate quantum processors for improved operation, including low-error quantum gates and fast, high-fidelity readout.
  • Conduct microwave measurements and characterization of superconducting quantum circuits in continuous-wave and pulsed operation, including processor calibration and benchmarking.
  • Operate and maintain quantum processing support infrastructure, including dilution refrigerators, control electronics, and cryogenic refrigeration.
  • Develop and implement methods for qubit readout with dispersively coupled resonators.
  • Collaborate with the fabrication team to develop and optimize commercial quantum processors.
  • Conduct scientific analysis of design and processor limitations.
  • Communicate scientific information effectively with the wider team.
  • Align development of physical quantum systems with theoretical quantum engineering.
  • Run experiments to support our R&D efforts and contribute to the development of our technology roadmap.
  • Ensure operational excellence of our Quantum Computers.
  • Engage with customers and partners to develop and maintain process documentation, project plans, and reports.
  • Represent OQC in scientific settings, such as conferences and collaborative consortia, and through the authorship of publications.
Requirements
  • Relevant PhD or Masters degree in quantum research or industry experience.
  • Ability to contribute ideas on how to improve experimental setups, improve performance, and innovate our technology.
  • Ability to work independently or within a team collaborating on projects.
  • Highly adaptable, good communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience with Python scripting/coding.

Location and Travel
