About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to make a difference in children's lives as a Special Needs Assistant in a supportive school setting.

The successful candidate will play a key role in providing tailored support to children with diverse learning needs, assisting with classroom activities and helping create a safe, inclusive environment where students can thrive.

As part of our dedicated team at GSL Education, you will work closely with teachers, parents, and other professionals to help students reach their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-on-one or group support to children, helping them engage in learning activities.
  • Assist teachers in implementing personalised learning plans based on each child's specific needs.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour, promoting a positive and inclusive atmosphere.
  • Monitor the progress of students, providing feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support students in developing social and emotional skills, fostering their independence and confidence.
Requirements
  • Be experienced working with children in a school or care setting.
  • Possess strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively with teachers, parents, and other professionals.
  • Be a patient, empathetic, and proactive approach to supporting children's development.
  • Have the ability to manage challenging behaviour positively and calmly.
  • Commit to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
  • Commit to promoting inclusion and helping students reach their full potential.
