A exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly skilled Development Control Specialist to join Knowsley Borough Council's team. As a Senior Planning Officer, you will play a crucial role in carrying out key functions related to Development Control matters.

The main duties of the role include:

  • Deputising for the Development Control Team Leader in their absence, ensuring seamless service delivery.
  • Handling a diverse caseload, including complex and major development applications and appeals, preparing comprehensive reports that meet legislative requirements.
  • Ensuring planning applications and appeals are processed and determined within established targets, while maintaining adherence to relevant planning guidance and legislation.
  • Preparing and presenting reports to Council Committees, making recommendations on matters to be decided under delegated powers.
  • Representing the Service at various meetings, demonstrating exceptional customer care and communication skills.
