About the Role:- Provide skilled nursing intervention and care to patients of all ages and conditions in partnership with the community nurse and the clinical direction of the general practitioners.
- Undertake delegated duties under the supervision of the community nurse team leader or senior on duty.
- Maintain close liaison with the community nurse team leader, the team, GP, and other members of the primary care team and wider health and social care team.
- Apply current infection control policy issues and universal precautions.
- Encourage patients towards self-care and independence.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of methods of rehabilitation.
- Demonstrate, teach, and supervise the nursing care that families/carers can safely undertake.
- Ensure that adequate medical supplies, equipment, and other materials are maintained.
- A relevant nursing degree.
- Current NMC registration with an active PIN.
- Previous experience working as a practice or community nurse.
- Experience of working in a primary care environment.
- Experience of chronic disease management, infection control, rehabilitation methods.
Newport Pagnell Medical Centre is a large GP training practice committed to providing excellent primary health care services with a strong emphasis on staff training and development. We have an 'outstanding' CQC rating and are based in excellent premises.
We are a large training practice based in the town of Newport Pagnell with another surgery in the Willen area.
