Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Assistant Ranger in Wasdale. As a key member of our Ranger team, you will be responsible for delivering conservation and access management projects in the uplands.

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a dynamic and fast-paced environment, contributing to the conservation of our beautiful upland habitats. You will be working closely with our experienced team to develop and implement conservation projects, including path repair, habitat restoration, and wildlife management.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver conservation and access management projects in the uplands
• Work closely with the Ranger team to develop and implement conservation projects
• Collaborate with Fix the Fells to repair and prevent erosion damage
• Develop close relationships with local communities and stakeholders

Requirements

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual with a passion for conservation and access management. You will need to have:
  • Practical experience in land, conservation, and access management to level 2 or 6 months vocational experience
  • Ability to work outside in all weathers and deliver tasks when the weather conditions aren't ideal
  • Comfortable working in a flexible and adaptable way
  • Ability to work alone or under direction, and as part of a team
  • Positive attitude with an approachable demeanor
  • Willingness to learn new things and share knowledge with others
