About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Fix the Fells Assistant Ranger. As a key member of our upland team, you will be responsible for delivering a range of conservation and access management tasks, including upland path repair, habitat preservation, and environmental stewardship.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver upland path repair and maintenance tasks, including surveying, building, and repairing paths
  • Preserve and enhance upland habitats through practical work, including vegetation management and habitat restoration
  • Work with the Fix the Fells team to deliver conservation and access management projects, including path maintenance, habitat restoration, and environmental monitoring
  • Collaborate with other National Trust teams and partners to deliver conservation and access management projects
  • Develop and maintain relationships with stakeholders, including local communities, landowners, and other conservation organizations

Requirements

  • Practical experience in land, conservation, and access management, including upland path repair and habitat preservation
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible and adaptable approach
  • Positive attitude and approachable demeanor, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of physical activity and exposure to the elements
