We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Lead District Nurse to join our team at Somerset NHS Foundation Trust. As a Clinical Lead, you will play a key role in providing leadership and guidance to our nursing staff, ensuring that we deliver high-quality patient care and achieve our organizational goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide and maintain a high standard of evidence-based, patient-centered care.
  • Demonstrate good interpersonal skills and develop practical skills required within the specialty, reflecting the philosophy of care.
  • Deliver patient care on a daily basis, using the systems in place in the department for a multi-disciplinary approach to patient-centered care delivery.
  • Support the team, department, and organization to achieve the Trust's Values in their day-to-day work.
  • Devise specialist programs of care for other professionals to deliver and ensure they are delivered appropriately.
  • Provide specialist advice to others regarding the management and care of patients.
  • Assist in leadership and development of staff in the team and act as a positive role model for more junior members of staff and students.
  • Deputize for the line manager in their absence.

Requirements
  • Relevant degree in nursing or equivalent qualification.
  • Professional knowledge acquired through degree supplemented by diploma-level specialist training, experience, short courses.
  • Evidence of continuing professional development and having undertaken post-registration training.
  • Leadership/management program or prepared to undertake a course.
  • Non-medical prescriber or prepared to undertake a course.
  • Coaching and/or mentorship training or prepared to undertake a course.
  • Appropriately registered with the Professional body as per post requirements.
  • Significant experience in the required setting.
  • Demonstrate clinical and managerial leadership ability.
  • Experience of working in multi-agency services.
  • Ability to undertake the higher-level clinical skills required for the specialist area.
  • Experience of mentoring.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Must be a car driver with a valid driving license or have access to transport with appropriate business insurance to travel throughout the trust as appropriate for the role.
  • Dexterity and accuracy required for eg intravenous injections, syringe pumps, infusions, catheters, and removal of sutures.
  • Ability to motivate self and others.
  • Willingness to use technology to improve standards of care.
  • Planning and organizing skills.
