About the Role

We are seeking experienced HGV Class 2 drivers with CPC qualifications to join our team as part-time Winter Maintenance Drivers. This temporary role will be based in Area 9, covering a specific geographical region.

As a Winter Maintenance Driver, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and accessibility of roads during adverse weather conditions. Your responsibilities will include operating gritting vehicles to treat designated routes, maintaining equipment, and adhering to strict safety protocols.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate a Winter Maintenance Gritting Vehicle to effectively clear snow and ice from allocated routes.
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed and any issues encountered.
  • Ensure the safe operation and maintenance of assigned equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding weather conditions and road closures.
  • Adhere to all relevant safety regulations and procedures.

Ideal Candidate Profile

We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

  • A full UK driving licence with HGV Class 2 (category C) entitlement.
  • CPC qualification (Certificate of Professional Competence).
  • Experience in operating heavy vehicles, preferably in a winter maintenance environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A strong commitment to safety and adherence to regulations.
