Landscaping Assistant

As a Landscaping Assistant at The Henry Box School, you will play a vital role in maintaining the school's green spaces. This is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a team delivering gardening services across the Academy schools.
The successful candidate will be responsible for providing a garden maintenance service including leaf clearance, weeding, low-level trimming and tidying of trees and shrubs, border tidying, deadheading, and planting.
You will also undertake facilities tasks at any school in the Trust or work alongside the wider facilities team from time to time for larger tasks/projects.
Main Responsibilities:
- To provide a garden maintenance service mainly at The Henry Box School with regular time at the primary schools.
- To undertake facilities tasks at any school in the Trust or work alongside the wider facilities team from time to time.
Key Tasks:
- Gardening tasks including leaf clearance, weeding, trimming, and tidying of trees and shrubs.
- Seasonal management of shrubs, beds, flower baskets, planters, and troughs.
- Reviewing gardens at all schools and drawing up schedules of ongoing maintenance.
- Planting and watering of baskets, tubs, and planters.
- Maintenance of ivy and climbers keeping walls and facilities cleared.
- Establishing and maintaining composting facilities at all schools.
- Ordering plants and garden equipment as needed.
- Reviewing and maintaining wooden facilities such as fences, benches, tables, and play equipment.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Achieving service outcomes and outputs, and personal appraisal targets, as agreed with Line Manager.
- Undertaking training and constructively taking part in meetings, supervision, seminars, and other events designed to improve communication and assist with effective development of the post and post holder.

This is a permanent, part-time position. Salary range: £25,183.00-£25,584.00 per year. Benefits include company pension, cycle to work scheme, free flu jabs, free parking, health & wellbeing programme, and on-site parking.
