Technical Systems Administrator

We are seeking a highly skilled Technical Systems Administrator to join our team at Interface Recruitment UK. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for providing technical support and maintenance for our internal infrastructure and managed services.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide technical support for server and network operations, including troubleshooting and resolving issues.
  • Commission and deploy new server and network hardware, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
  • Maintain and update software applications, including email, proxy/web services, and security systems.
  • Assist with routine maintenance processes, such as patching, software updates, and anti-virus maintenance.
  • Manage workload and provide responses to end-users using an internal call management system.
  • Provide technical support for other departments, including client services and service delivery teams.
  • Ensure the completion of managed service scheduled tasks, as defined within service level agreements.
  • Provide 3rd line assistance for high-priority issues, ensuring timely resolution and minimal disruption.

Requirements:

  • Significant experience designing and configuring networks, including VLANs, routing, and switch configuration.
  • Good experience of setting up and managing modern Hyper-V clusters, including switch embedded teaming and virtual networking.
  • Experience of Office365 cloud configuration and management.
  • Experience with Microsoft Azure configuration and management.
  • Experience managing Microsoft Active Directory users, groups, and computers.
  • Experience troubleshooting network issues and managing backup processes.
  • Ability to work out of hours when necessary.
  • A minimum of 5 years relevant experience.

Desirable Skills:

  • Experience of Powershell scripting.
  • Experience creating network diagrams and other IT documentation.
  • Understanding of ISO27001 security standards and operational guidelines.
  • Experience setting up and troubleshooting Group Policy.
  • Experience of VMware vSphere management.
  • Veeam Backup and Replication.
  • Microsoft Sharepoint implementation and management.
  • Experience of using ticketing systems.
  • SAN and NAS maintenance.
  • Juniper and Extreme Networks configuration experience.
