Job Title: Panel Wirer

Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled Panel Wirer to join our team at Velatia. As a key member of our production team, you will be responsible for the assembly, protection, and control of panels, ensuring high-quality products that meet our customers' expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assemble and wire control panels according to schematic drawings and GA drawings.
  • Layout and mechanical assembly of panels, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Electrical wiring and interconnection wiring to meet our quality standards.
  • Perform point-to-point checks of completed panels to ensure they meet our quality control standards.
  • Assist in the assembly of P&C panels on switchgear and mechanical fitting.
  • Contribute to the day-to-day operation of the production area, including maintaining cleanliness and stock levels.
  • Complete production paperwork, such as timesheets and assembly completion records.
  • Aid production engineers in meeting production requirements and installing equipment into sub-stations.
  • Cut and fit cable with identification labels and test equipment.
  • Identify and communicate potential health and safety risks in the production area.

Requirements:

  • Must be able to read and interpret electrical diagrams and technical schematics.
  • General IT skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively on your own or as part of a team.

Education and Employment Background:

  • Relevant electrical qualification, such as a level 3 qualification in a relevant field.
  • BTec or City and Guilds electrical qualification or recognised apprenticeship/training body.

Desirable:

  • Experience in electrical control panel wiring.
  • Experience with the assembly of protection and control panels used to control medium voltage switchgear.

Working Hours:

  • Monday-Thursday: 8am-5pm.
  • Friday: 8am-1pm (Early finish).
