Job Title: NPD Technologist

Location: Dungannon

Overview:

We are seeking a skilled NPD Technologist to join our dynamic team at Hunter Savage in Dungannon. Reporting to the NPD Site Lead, you will play a crucial role in generating new product ideas and managing product concepts through the innovation process to factory-scale production.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key retail account personnel within the NPD team.
  • Manage and coordinate assigned development projects to ensure timely and effective completion.
  • Collaborate closely with the Site Lead and NPD Managers to assist with all aspects of the product development process.
  • Execute necessary practical and administrative duties related to the NPD process and critical path management.
  • Assist in the coordination and delivery of customer presentations.
  • Stay informed about food trends and identify NPD opportunities to support future business strategies.
  • Conduct all NPD activities in accordance with company and customer requirements.
  • Assist in recipe development, formulation, and modification based on project requirements and target product attributes.
  • Conduct sensory evaluations and provide constructive feedback on products.
  • Liaise and communicate with suppliers, third parties, and external experts to enhance product development.
  • Work with internal stakeholders to develop and deliver food-safe, legally compliant new and modified product lines.

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of a 3rd level qualification in Consumer Studies, Food Science/Technology, or a related discipline.
  • Ideally, at least one year of experience in a food product development or related environment.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Proficiency in PC applications.
  • Experience in reformed meat and meal solution categories is desirable but not essential.
  • A full UK driving license is required.
