About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Occupational Therapist to join our Critical Care & Respiratory Rehabilitation team at Mid and South Essex NHS Foundation Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a clinical caseload, completing assessments, treatment sessions, and discharge planning for patients in critical care and respiratory rehabilitation.
  • Provide clinical leadership and specialist occupational therapy support to the team, including supervision and education of junior staff and students.
  • Develop and implement evidence-based audit and research projects to enhance clinical practice and improve patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive and coordinated care for patients.
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care transitions.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest research, best practices, and professional standards in occupational therapy.
Requirements
  • HCPC registration as an Occupational Therapist.
  • Graduate Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy.
  • Experience working in critical care or respiratory units.
  • Experience as a Band 6 Occupational Therapist.
  • Desirable: experience of MDT working and evidence of supporting students or junior staff.
