Technical Architecture Leader for Digital Channels

Are you an experienced architect looking to shape the digital future of a leading bank? We have an exciting opportunity for a Technical Architecture Leader to join our Digital Channels team at NatWest.

Role Overview

As a Technical Architecture Leader, you will play a key part in driving exceptional outcomes across all areas of our business. You'll be responsible for defining the high-level technical architecture and design that provides solutions to deliver great business outcomes and meets our longer-term strategy.

You will collaborate with our Digital Channels platform teams, business franchises, and wider domain teams to architect and deliver solutions. Together, you'll elaborate on the solution and its interfaces, validate technology assumptions, evaluate implementation alternatives, and develop a pipeline of features and improvements to allow frequent and incremental delivery of customer value.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead the activities to shape requirements, validating designs and prototypes to deliver change that aligns with the target architecture
  • Set the quality standard for solution design in the team; troubleshoot, coach, and refine the designs of others to ensure we meet it
  • Promote adaptive design practices to drive collaboration of feature teams around a common technical vision using continuous feedback
  • Make recommendations of potential impacts to existing and prospective customers of the latest technology and customer trends
  • Look for ways to innovate and extend our products and services to delight our customers and empower our stakeholders

To succeed in this role, you will bring expert knowledge of high-traffic public web architecture, content management systems, particularly the Adobe ecosystem, Analytics, Target, and AEP. You will also need an understanding of Agile methodologies with experience of working in Agile engineering teams.

Requirements
  • Experience of developing, syndicating, and communicating architectures, designs, and proposals for action
  • A background in delivering solutions that securely span a complex infrastructure domain
  • Experience of working with senior business and technology stakeholders in public web, fintech, retail or commercial banking
  • Knowledge of Java and Microservices, Google Apigee, Azure, and cloud hosting, as well as networking, DataPower, Oracle, and certificates
  • Experience of working with business solution vendors, technology vendors, and products within the market
What We Offer

We offer a competitive salary of £80,000 - £100,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as a range of benefits including pension scheme, private health insurance, and annual leave.
