Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, United Kingdom University of Cambridge Full time

Project Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated Research Scientist to investigate the role of long non-coding RNAs in Zika virus-induced neuropathogenesis. This project aims to characterise how the differential expression of lncRNAs during infection will play a role in neuropathogenesis.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct in-depth analysis of lncRNA expression and function in the context of Zika virus infection
  • Investigate the mechanisms by which lncRNAs contribute to neuropathogenesis
  • Develop and apply novel experimental approaches to study lncRNA function

Requirements

  • PhD in a relevant field (e.g. molecular biology, virology, neuroscience)
  • Strong background in molecular biology and virology
  • Excellent research skills and experience with experimental design and data analysis

Working Environment

The successful candidate will be based in the Department of Pathology at the University of Cambridge and will work under the supervision of Dr Nerea Irigoyen. The University actively supports equality, diversity and inclusion and encourages applications from all sections of society.

Funding

The studentship will cover the student's stipend at the current Research Council rate and University Fees. The studentship is open to those eligible for the Home rate of University fees.
