Job Title: Public Health Consultant Opportunity

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Public Health Consultant to join our team at We Manage Jobs (WMJobs). As a Public Health Consultant, you will play a key role in providing specialist advice to our central programme delivery team and participating Combined Authorities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategically oversee public health elements of the programme portfolio
  • Work closely with WMCA Health & Communities team, participating Combined Authorities, The Health Foundation, and the central programme delivery team
  • Provide specialist advice and support to the programme team
  • Develop and implement public health strategies and initiatives
  • Monitor and evaluate programme progress and outcomes

Requirements:

  • Inclusion in the GMC Full and Specialist Register with a license to practice/GDC Specialist List or Inclusion in the UK Public Health Register (UKPHR) for Public Health Specialists
  • Equivalent training and/or appropriate experience of public health practice for GMC Specialist Register/GDC Specialist List holders in a specialty other than public health medicine/dental public health
  • Public health specialty registrar applicants who are not yet on the GMC Specialist Register/UKPHR or GDC Specialist List in dental public health must provide verifiable signed documentary evidence that they are within 6 months of gaining entry
  • UK-trained Public Health Specialists must hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview
  • Non-UK-trained applicants must show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT
  • Meet minimum CPD requirements in accordance with Faculty of Public Health requirements or other recognised body
  • Hold a Master of Public Health (MPH) or equivalent qualification
