About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Sushi Chef to join our team at Fundamental Hospitality as a High-End Sushi Kitchen Manager. As a key member of our culinary team, you will be responsible for overseeing the entire sushi kitchen operation, ensuring exceptional quality and presentation of dishes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of cooks and workers engaged in food preparation, maintaining a clean and safe kitchen environment.
  • Evaluate and solve procedural problems, inspect supplies and equipment, determine production schedules, and estimate costs.
  • Instruct section staff in food preparation, cooking, and presentation, handling section manpower requirements.

Requirements:

  • Culinary arts degree or 5+ years of experience as a Sushi (Head) chef or 10+ years of experience as a line chef with senior role.
  • Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English fluently.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

Working Conditions:

  • Must be able to stand and exert well-paced mobility for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and perform tasks that require bending, stooping, kneeling, reaching, pushing, pulling, twisting, walking, crouching, squatting, and stretching.

Salary Estimate: $60,000 - $80,000 per year, depending on experience.
